    3. Charles I [30% correct, 2 mulligans]
    4. 742 Evergreen Terrace (Several teams knew the street, but not the address) [0% correct, 5 mulligans]
    5. Scheherazade (I just wanted to see peole try to spell it) [67% correct]
    6. Influenza [67%]
    7. The Untouchables (I thought more teams would know this one) [50%]
    8. Dr. Samuel Mudd [91%, 1 mulligan]
    9. Fantasia (An easy question as long as you remember it was in the “Disney” category) [100%]
    10. Frank Gifford [36%, 1 mulligan]

    Round Four Answers:
    1. Absinthe [64%, 1 mulligan]
    2. Lake Michigan [83%]
    3. July 14 [78%, 3 mulligans]
    4. Star Trek (My only Star Trek question. Most wrong answers were for All in the Family, I suspect for the famous Archie Bunker/Sammy Davis Jr. smooch, but that came several years after Star Trek) [25%]
    5. The Golden Fleece [92%]
    6. Apollo 17 [33%]
    7. Theodore Roosevelt [92%]
    8. The Once-ler [14%, 5 mulligans] (As an aside, I got into college by writing an admission essay about The Lorax.)
    9. Beauty and the Beast [67%] (Several teams thought it was Snow White)
    10. Bode Miller [73%, 1 mulligan] (This was on the news so much, I’m surprised any team missed it.)

    Round Five Answers:
    1. Pepper [17%] (Several teams came up to me swearing that the answer had to be “salt”. I pointed out that I had triple-checked the answer with several different sources and “pepper” was the answer. I also reminded them that while salt was once a key preservative, it is no longer as necessary with the advent of canned food, refiregeration, etc. I also pointed out that salt is more of a Western seasoning, and the question asked for “world.”)
    2. Gettysburg [45%, 1 mulligan] (Antietam was the single bloodiest day, but Gettysburg lasted several days)
    3. Yangtze River [75%]
    4. Oprah Winfrey [100%] (A gimme question)

    7. Casablanca [70%, 2 mulligans]
    8. Dentist [100%]
    9. Dumbo [58%] (There was some question regarding this question. A couple of teams were vehement that Snow White & The Seven Dwarves should count since Dopey never spoke. While I saw their point, I did not give them the point as Dopey was not named specifically in the title.)
    10. Q and Z [83%]

    Round Six Answers:
    1. Bingo [10%, 2 mulligans]
    2. William Taft [82%, 1 muliigan]
    3. Greece [75%]
    4. Perry Como [0%, 1 mulligan] (Several record companies had handed out their own ‘Gold Records’, but Perry Como was the first to receive one from the RIAA. Most common answers were Bing Crosby and Elvis.)
    5. Albatross [92%]
    6. Whale-shark [67%] (I thought this would be another gimme question)
    7. Slaughterhouse-Five [60%, 7 mulligans]
    8. Roger Bannister [58%] (A medical student when he broke the record, now a top neurologist)
    9. Roy Disney [42%] (Most common incorrect guess: Mickey Mouse)
    10. Anchorage and Nome [42%]

  2. r3q3: Not enough Python fans?

r5q1: I’m pretty sure that’s because salt isn’t considered a ’spice,’ not because it’s less popular.

  3. Round 5, Question 9: Did “The Black Cauldron” speak?

  4. Nice try Jim, but the cauldron doesn’t count as a character.
