		<description>Have you tried Deer-off?  I can get it (or similar stuff) at my local hardware or gardening store, and it works pretty well.  It works by being noxious rather than poisonous (smells like rotten eggs gone worse), so critters usually don&#039;t want to eat it.  You won&#039;t want to smell it up close, either, while you&#039;re spraying, but for me the odor fades pretty quickly.  Some people also use formulations of fox or coyote urine.

I don&#039;t know if butterflies would find it unappealing, though.</description>
