As much as I like House, if he were a real doctor in real life, I would say that the cop is acting completely appropriately. Six hundred Vicodin in his apartment? I'd think he was trafficking, too. High while on the job, irritable and mean, sarcastic and ignoring the concerns of his patients? I like that they finally have someone taking him to task for all of that. He'll of course get away with it since he's the star of the show, but at least this makes things interesting :).

*sigh* It annoys me when people are ignorant of weigh related issues. Yes the man is very much obese but as with any amount that someone is overweight it only acts to raise the risk of a disease. Not cause a certainty that you will get it. The man had a chance of having no diabetic issues at all if severe obesity was his only risk factor. Granted not a good chance but a chance all the same. It would be like saying all smokers will definitely have lung cancer because smoking is a leading cause.

One thing I'm surprised no one has mentioned and I didn't really think about before reading your review: David Morse played a doctor on 'St Elsewhere' back in the 80's. :) I've always liked him, but I despised his character on 'House'.

coming directly to the point, I would say it was a great episode all in all (except the final diagnosis) My Querry:
>How can a guy with that much of a weight (600 lbs!!!) can`t have Diabetes??? I mean doesn`t obesity (and that much) a predisposing factor for Diabetes?

Good review Scott as-always :)

Yes, House is meaner this season. I think we have to remember that he must be, at some level, extremely depressed. He was pain-free for a while, and then all the pain came crashing back on him. I personally welcome the character development.

Small cell lung cancer is exceptionally rare in non smokers and, as someone has already pointed out, is treated with chemotherapy not radiotherapy.

Isn't anyone surprised to see how many bottle of pills House had at his home? This seems quite unrealistic as he must finish the bottles as quickly as he gets new ones...

I also think that Tritter is only vengeful; he even tells House that "he wants to beat the crap out him."
IMO Tritter doesn't give a crap about potential damage House can cause to his patients.
And one more thing; If Tritter suspects that House can be pushing vicodin into streets (even if it's only pretence for his pursuit) shouldn't he delegate the case to the DEA? After all, House had a whole lot pills in his flat.
