I know this comment is posted so far after the ep that it likely wont even be seen but having just watched the ep n having just got this far in reading all the summaries n comments I just felt I had to make a comment... please forgive the crude spelling n punctuation as Im using a Kindle to post this n am too lazy to pull up the Symbol selections etc. By the way Scott I am in awe of ur dedication n excellence n agree with many others that u should be hired by the writers...

I was really disappointed to see House dismiss gabapentin without at least mentioning if he had previously tried it. I also suffer from chronic pain n here in Ontario Canada docs r VERY cautious about prescribing any narcotic for more than short term acute use. I was first tried on Tylenol 3 which has a pretty low dose of codeine but I cant tolerate codeine. I was then put on Tramadol which my doc treated like it was heroin n pharmacist treated like it was a script for aspirin but it didnt work very well n caused seizures since Im also on antidepressants.

I heard about gabapentin n thought it was worth a try even tho it is offlabel for my pain which is from rheumatoid arthritis. I was surprised and grateful to find that this med reduces my pain level about 70 percent which is far more than the other meds did n allows me to feel like I have a life again. Yes it took a bit of time to find the right dose n dosing schedule n yes there was clouded cognitive function until I got acclimated but I found that if u give urself a bit of time to get it right it works wonders.

House also seemed to shrug gabapentin off because it was for nerve pain n therefore wouldnt work for him. Please correct if Im wrong but I thought his pain was from nerves trying to reconnect in a dead zone -that is exactly one of the most prescribed offlable uses for this drug. At worst he would find that he was unable to adjust mentally to this drug (they dont call it MORONtin for nothing -instead of NEURONtin)but best case he could be off the narcotics entirely or at least finding his dose reqs for them greatly reduced...

Of course then he wouldnt be the cranky psuedoaddict we know n love to hate I guess. I just hope there might be even one person who will read this n ask their doc to try it even tho it might not be normally prescribed for their type of pain n have good results. I wish I could get the word out to more people...

A few other things the gabapentin (neurontin) has also helped me with - likely because they r all in some way nerve related are:
severe restless leg syndrome that Id never bothered to attempt to have treated before as I thought I had no choice but to deal with it.
frequent urge to urinte -down from fifteen times a day n night to approx six or eight.
relief from having to constantly either wash or moistuize my hands from ocd.
better n deeper sleep due to better pain mgmt and rls relief but also from not being a fifty to hundred toss n turn a night person - I can actually sit or lie perfectly still now for the first time in my life for up to an hour at a time. Previously I was one of those people who was always having people reach over to stop my leg from bouncing under the table etc.

So if u have any of these or similar as well as chronic back or nerve pain please at least talk to ur doc about this med. It may give u a new lease on ur life...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but how did a long-haired woman, with dark hair, (the mother) even get a CHH diagnosis in the first place? Don't CHH little people have short, blond hair?

Just to clarify the "faulty syllogism" House mentions: it's a fallacy called "illicit major." "All X is Z; All Y is Z; ergo, X is Y."

Just thought I should specify, because House, a logic god, was rather vague about it.

I'm a Type-1 diabetic, and her experience with ketoacidosis was a bit... uh, different... than mine. This was when I first got diagnosed.

I was vomiting 10 times an hour (drinking water just so I would have something to vomit the next time; otherwise, it was just dry heaving), urinating 5 times an hour, and barely had the energy to stand up. Granted, my blood sugar was too high to be measured (I'm sure it was well over 1000), but come on... the girl went straight into a hyperglycemic coma without showing any symptoms beforehand? Does that ever really happen?

First off, Tritter is a dirty cop. His making a "deal" with Wilson and then perching in House's office to offer the deal is unConstitutional, since House is, at that point, represented and Tritter knows it.

Second, both Wilson and Cuddy could lose their licenses for enabling the cop in his unlawful activities. Just because their actions do not have anything to do with the practice of medicine, they are still committing crimes of moral turpitude. (These are Federal civil rights violations.)

Finally, the "DA" could not make an offer or keep an offer open. There is no such thing as a DA in New Jersey. Most states have District Attorneys. Those District Attorneys tend to be elected officials.

In New Jersey, most crimal cases are broughy by the County Prosecutor, who is not elected. He or she is appointed by the Governor with the adivce and consent of the Senate and serves a five-year term. He or she cannot be forced to resign by the Governor.

The United States Attorney's Office in New Jersey has a long record of prosecuting local corruption. Tritter should have been long gone after a few phone calls and a Federal investigation.

The legal aspects of his arc suggest that the program has no legal advisor or that the advisor is a Californian (and a lazy one at that). I have practiced law in both New Jersey and California. Often, California attorneys advising entertainment productions simply use their California experience without bothering to look at the actual law of the jurisdiction.

I think growth hormone isn´t a pill but a shot. And I doubt that Abigail still has open growth cartilages at the age of 15.

When House downed the bottle of pills with the alcohol, I immediately thought "suicide attempt" - and was absolutely floored when Wilson just walked away. That, to me, signals the end of their friendship - Wilson doesn't care if House lives or dies if he won't follow Wilson's plans for him.
