Maybe it's in a museum because it is quaint and archaic. Maybe they tried using it in the 28th Century and after causing numerous social catastrophes, people assembled and decided never to use the damn thing again.

Well, isn't that Bouncing Boy? If he bounced into all that glass what would happen to the poor expanded fool? He's clearly helpless to act. My assumption is that the 30th century would be an age of scientific wonders. So, if the Urn is a sciemtific creation, why make it as an urn? It's magic you say? That's just confusing! And the crook has an electric motor from an old GE washer on his back. In the 30th century? Oh my achin' head!

1) We might say he wasn't being strictly literal, and it's more like "it can boost the immune system into overdrive."

2) They don't use it because they have better medicine, so to them it's the equivalent of a plant version of a pharmaceutical - it works, but it might give you some bad side effects (like an auto-immune condition which it *won't* cure), and their 30th century developments are much safer and more effective.

Maybe the guy is stealing it for the collectible value rather than the medical value. As in, "this is the object which was responsible for the discovery of immunodiation therapy".

I'm reminded of a former co-worker who was convinced that the medical establishment will never truly cure cancer, because that would mean the medical industry would lose out on the tons of money it makes now treating cancer.

I can't help feeling that if I were to come up with a cure for cancer that was nearly 100% effective and had virtually zero percent side effects, I would be wealthy beyond avarice. (I mean, if we're going to say it's only about the money ...)
