I hadn't noticed that error before, but you're right. It does happen in the full version too (but interestingly enough, not in Comic Base 8). The only other I've encountered happends when you "x" out of a menu instead of canceling out: the same error occurs. Human Computing has been very good about fixing any bugs, so I assume there will be a patch soon.

I've never used ComicBase before so I tried the "Demo" version. It looks ok to me but like I said, I never used the older versions. However, I did notice this little issue with the demo version:

Select "Comics" located at the top of the main window. I then selected "Find Comics" from the pull down menu. In the "Find:" window I made the mistake of accidentally selecting the "-------------------" separator. When this occurs you get a "Run-time error `438`: Object doesn't support this property or method" and the program dies a horrible death (using up one of my 30 chances to try it out). Does this happen in the full blown version? Are there other bugs or is this a pretty stable product. I'd hate to blow $120 to $200 on garbage.
