Your Weekend Moment of Psychic Nosebleed Zen: More Xombi
Another good example of the psychic nosebleed from Xombi, this time from issue #9. In this scene, David Kim (the eponymous Xombi) and his associates have encountered an imprisoned seraphim, who doesn’t so much tell his story, as download it directly into their brain. It’s another one of those “trying to cram too much in the brain” psychic nosebleeds.

Bizarrely, the only issue of Xombi that I own is #0. Am I to believe that if I enjoyed that one, I wouldn’t appreciate the rest of the series?

There’s nothing wrong with Xombi #0, but it doesn’t really tie in well to the rest of the series. It’s part of a big Milestone Comics “special event” so crosses over with other characters more than the rest of the series. It’s also missing the wacky villains that are the best part of Xombi.

Xombi #0 is an odd zero issue, since it’s set around geez, issue #6 or #7 of the regular series. There are a couple nice moments where he realizes his life is never, ever, going to be normal again.
And weren’t the Snapping Jaws in that one? A rottweiler that was invisible except for it’s mouth? That’s at least kinda wacky…
