Sad that Nielsen died, I wonder if she ever saw this episode

Judy, it was just cheap cgi. They are only a TV show, they should have added more snow or something but it was a bit cartoony.
If stuff flys at you, you stand behind the most solid thing which was the pole right by him, a bit brainless of him.

They'd never have air trbines there in the first place, as said above the maintenance is bad enough in normal weather

'there was this recognition thing going on' - recognition is part of attraction, even with people you've never met before and vice versa of course

She liked him too I knew at show open when she covers, I couldnt do without you with a quick joke

@ Vadim: She could have got it from one of the other people there. The virus could have lain dormant in frozen food that was thawed. A cold may be more likely in the spring, but I doubt it's impossible to get one in the winter.

Cuddy says Cameron gave Demerol to a patient on an MAOI, and that it sent him into hypertensive crisis. Wouldn't giving a patient on an MAOI Demerol cause hyperserotonemia, not a hypertensive episode?

@Caustic Guy You don't get infection at a polar station at winter, you get it in spring, when supply ships are coming in. You simply don't have any source for infection.

Sadly, Dr. Jerri Nielsen died last summer, since her cancer couldn't be treated properly...

@trlkly There was no such theme as far as I can tell. The only suggestion of that was in the end where House vaguely commented that if he had forced her to take her socks off this would all be resolved sooner. Did House let her keep socks on because he cares about her? Would he have been able to get her to take them off? I think not.

For the rest of the show most characters comment that he is a better doctor at diagnosing someone he cares about.

You missed an important part of the episode, the whole dynamic with House not only meeting someone who could be his match, but someone he could actually care about.

And this caring made him a bad doctor. It's like he's figuring out that he can't afford to be happy. This is a very common theme on the show.

"How did fat embolism lead to enlarged lymph nodes?"

Or she had a fat embolism and a cold. Which seems likely considering she's in Antarctica. Infection is the most common cause of enlarged lymph nodes.

When Wilson remarks on House’s use of the patient’s first name, House calls him “Bob.” Isn’t Wilson’s first name James? Bob is the actor’s name, isn’t it?

I notices this too!
