I remember the time I had my eye taped over (corneal scratch) on the day we were due to meet an acquaintance for dinner. I had to lean on my husband the block or so that we walked from where we parked, due to not being able to move the good eye without provoking discomfort in the bad eye, so that I looked not only like a person with a stupid eye patch, but a drunk person with a stupid eye patch.
