Do You Want to be Cool?

There’s a sad irony involved when you have to learn to be cool from an ad found in the back of a comic book.

(Plus it seems the first step of being cool is becoming Canadian.)

  1. Awesome. I’ll be using the term ‘choker’ from now on.

I knew I learned all the wrong things. I don’t need to learn to love myself and have self-esteem…I just need to be COOL!

  2. And learn to gladly pay you Tuesday for a burger today!

  3. Hey, if it was good enough for Superman…

  4. In today’s money that’s nearly $10. So . . . “hey, send me ten bucks, and I’ll make you cool!” Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.

  5. Y’know, “whimp” does make more etymological sense than “wimp.”

  6. Just checked the address. I had no Idea Kitchener was such a bastion of cool. I think I know someone who went to engineering school there, but he prides himself on being geeky rather than cool. Which makes him cool.

  7. “Move to Canada. It snows nearly year round”!?!

I wasted $5 bucks on a stupid joke? I could have gotten a set of 20 “Would You Believe?” cards for $1.95!

  8. Scott, I’m curious- why did you pick Edmonton when the label says Kitchener? Alberta is a bloody long way from Ontario. Completely different province. :P
But you’re right, you picked the better hockey team. [But you missed out on seeing the faux oil derrick that shoots off fireworks.]

Also to be cool and canadian you need both Beer and an Evil Sentient Beaver. As is seen… here. :D

  9. Sable,

I picked the best (at least to a hockey fan like me) rendition of Oh Canada I could find on a quick YouTube search.

  10. Scott, lol, yeah that is a really good one. Edmontonians are rather rabid hockey fans. [I rememeber at least one near-riot from when they got into the semifinals]
I can never remember the rules, but I’ll always cheer for my home team ^__–
