We&#039;ve previously seen people infected by TV Brainiac get black-on-black eyes, which would imply that the black nanoparticle goo that comprises Brainiac gets into the host&#039;s tear ducts (for reasons I can&#039;t quite fathom).

The particles are normally black because they power themselves from ambient light, but in this case the energy input from the Kryptonian crystal was so intense that the nanoparticles overloaded and emitted the excess energy as white light. Which probably hurts.</description>
