  3. Salk vaccine – Testing began in 1952; available to the public in 1955.

    Sabin vaccine – Testing began in 1957; available to the public in 1962.

    I was wondering if you were thinking of doing Royal Pains the way you do House & Fringe? I’d be interested to see if any of the medicine on that show is valid.

  6. I find myself wary of those ‘precautions.’ Sure, keep clean, good advice.

    ‘Don’t get fatigued’ or ‘don’t get chilled?’ Are those really things you can control. The ‘avoid new group’ thing, while probably prudent, not exactly the best message to send to kids.

    Really? I have had so many shots of that… When I was a kid and we went for a vacation in the tropics, I’d always get that big jab…

    Yeah… it’s kind of like the self-defense advice they give. “Don’t walk alone. Avoid bad neighborhoods. Don’t walk after dark.” Without becoming a social recluse, it’s hard not to break those rules. So, instead, you do the best you can and then you learn to deal with the rest.
