Well, he could write it down… But I’m confused. If he can’t speak then why does Janu say “You must tell me why you switch…’ Apart from plot exposition, that is?

Anyway, I’m glad to see that he doesn’t attempt to give the digitalis BEFORE putting on the white coat. That would not be the done thing at all…

I don’t know he would NORMALLY “explain” stuff to Janu, but if it’s Koko-style sign language, yeah, that would take a while — and he’d have to use his hands to SAY it, instead of getting the digitalis out of the bag.
