Speaking of homeopathy and colds, what would the homeopathic remedy for pnuemonia be?
If I recall my quakery correctly, homeopathy involves taking a substance that induces the symptoms of said ailment in healthy people, then diluting it in water several thousand, million times (such that a single molecule of the substance is unlikely to remain) then pawning off this “solution” as a cure.
Since water can induce the symptoms of pnuemonia in healthy people would a homeopathic “cure” for pnumonia involve taking water and diluting it in water (such that a single molecule is unlikely to remain)?
Eh… I didn’t really see homeopathy so much as scientific hubris (obviously, his cold remedy didn’t work all that well) and misunderstanding of how colds develop (getting cold and wet does not make you develop a cold or pneumonia, although they can weaken your immune system to make it easier and in cold weather, people unconsciously sit closer to one another which makes it easier for the contagion to spread).

Drafterman, I like the way you think. That’s an interesting thought; homeopathic remedy for pneumonia.

Sean, I think you mean “subconsciously”, as “unconsciously” would mean that they’re all passed out.
