Also, used to like the character of House in the beginning. In an odd way I felt I could relate to him on many levels. Now I feel like he isn't even a lovable jerk anymore, just simply a jerk. I wonder why Cuddy and Wilson gave him so many chances and how Wilson will remain friends with House after that [disappointing] season finale.

It's painful to watch his downward spiral and the show has become so unbelievable. It sounds terrible but I hope the series will end in House's suicide.

Agree with JenJen on Wilson. Towards the end of the series he's become the highlight of many episodes. He looks so young and boyish in the pilot. It makes me feel like I've time traveled. Even House himself looks cleaner.

I've watched every episode beginning with Paternity, and just finished the 7th season finale. I excluded the pilot so I could come back and be reminded as to what the series once was.

I've also read every single one of your articles after every episode of house watched. This is my first time posting. It's a shame how the series has begun to fall apart. I understand that it's tough to go 7 seasons with the same characters, the same scenery, trying to find a new exciting medical mystery. It's a shame that the show has become more about the soap opera aspect and less about the medicine.

There were some pleasant episodes in seasons 5 to 7 but a good bit of those episodes also bored me to tears.

Thank you Dr. Scott, for the time taken to type up your lovely medical reviews of House M.D.

Here's hoping (probably in vain) season 8 will pick up the slack.

Dr. Scott! I was curious to see your review of the pilot... this is my favorite line of your review:

"Robert Sean Leonard simply fades into the background whenever he’s in a scene."

Priceless!... considering now we hope for more of him! lol :-D

Kevin - this is actually one of my favorite episodes because of this very cinematic look.
Bryan Singer directed this episode, and IMO, it really shows. The whole episode is desaturated, in some scenes in the hospital the color has been completely removed from everything except the actors, who have a sort of glow - even the clothing is black/white. There are more crane shots than I usually see in television...
Obviously I could go on and on.
I LOVE the look of this episode. I think it was a very, very bold choice by Singer, and it's a masterpiece of post-production.
I'm glad they didn't stick with this look for the entire series, as it's quite distracting, but oh, it is LOVELY.

Years after I started watching house I finally get the opportunity to see this episode. Intresting choice of color filtering (desaturating all but yellow/orange in many shots) - it's actually kind of cool to see it now grossly out of order because it has a "back-in-time" look to it.
