I love Oil-O-Sol and have about 1/3 of a bottle left and guard it with my life. Anytime I have an infected cut I use a bit on a bandaid and it pulls the infection out!!!! When I lived in Iowa in the early 80's I found a bottle in an old drug store and snatched it up.

I loved Oil-O-Sol! We used it for every cut and abrasion. You could watch the blood clot and the wound begin to seal. Dad cut two fingers badly with a pocket knife -- would have required several stitches and a big doctor bill now. After a good soaking in Oil-O-Sol and a couple of bandaids, it was healed in a couple of days! Worked great for killing ear mites in the rabbits ears too -- and for treating wounds the stray cats brought in and when the goat was cut on the fence. It didn't burn and got quick results; making it a great treatment for both people and the animals! I have a closely guarded half botttle left and and save it for only the major injuries! Wish I could still buy it!!

We too used Oil-o-Sol throughout my childhood. My grandmother was the original user in my family...she worked in a shirt factory where they used the stuff when someone sewed through a finger. We kids used it for everything, even to treat a rabbit's infected ear. My dad and I have often remarked how much we wish it were still around.

Growing up, my family used Oil-O-Sol for every injury and it worked wonders. When I was about five, I cut just behind my ankle so badly that you could see the muscle move when I moved my foot. Dad kept it wrapped in bandages soaked with Oil-O-Sol for several days and it healed just fine. They probably took it off the market because some big drug company didn't like the competition!

My wike's cousin found a full bottle at an antique store. They talked for a long time about the things it could cure. I binged it and found this site. I agree with bobby Plaster, it works a million times but a couple people abused it so it is now off the market.

A nurse in the army in 1944 told me about Oli-O-Sol to use on cold sores. Sorry it is no longer available.

We have used Oil-o-sol all my life. When we found out it was being discontinued 20+ years ago, we went and bought the only three bottles that we could find in our area. We still have one bottle at my parents and I have 3/4 of a bottle left. It has been used only for the grandchildren and really bad incidents with the adults. For instance, my brother's leg got caught between two cars he was working on. The bruising and swelling where literally gone the next day. It is a wonderful product. If it is toxic, then let me be toxic! I bought a bottle off e-bay several years ago that was from the 1940's. It smelled like turpentine, but worked great too. Unfortunately, it was lost in a move. We have never found another product that can even touch the abilities of Oil-o-sol.

My grandmother used oil-o-sol on my mom when she was a kid ...Oil-O-Sol healed a 2Nd. degree sun burn on my back, and couldn't let anything touch it..had to stay in bed with nothing on ..( I was in my teens), my mom soaked my back with oil-o-sol and by the next day I could put on a shirt....And when i had my kids I put Oil-o-sol on my birth stitches....When my OB Dr. asked me how my stitches were doing 3 days later I told him that they were healed...and he said how, I told him about my oil-o-sol and he asked to see it, so I took it in to show him and it amazed him!!!!!! when I ran out of oil-o-sol I asked mom to get me some more and she told me that grandma contacted the co. and they said they sold the recipe to some other CO.....And I have been looking for it up to this day!!!!! If anyone can find it I WOULD LOVE TO GET SOME ! ! ! MY FAMILY SWERES BY IT

oil-o-sol was a miracle worker for bruises! My aunt had the last littlr bit saved when I had a bad hematoma on my head.from a wreck. She put it on me all night and the next day, it wasn;t even sore! If I could find it, I 'd be so happy.
