Just to point out something with your True Story, the EMTs were probably using lead II, and as Bob Page would put it "Lead II, you got no clue!" (http://multileadmedics.com/) A 12-lead would have taken an extra 2 minutes. I do agree with your conclusion.

I just noticed something amusing - Superman (who, remember, is on this much-advertised *walking* tour) *literally* "runs off" - look at his cape in the last panel! Capes don't do that when you're just strolling off at normal human speed!

Speaking of true stories, any chance of a full True Tale? I enjoy those and (I think?) it's been a while since you wrote one up.

The thing that baffles me is that this situation seems to parallel so exactly the scenario that led off this storyline to begin with! Except in that case, Superman was unable to intervene and was blamed unfairly for the husband's death. It's mindboggling that Straczynski wouldn't see the similarity. Maybe in his mind this scene was equivalent to Superman telling the guy to quit smoking or something, but even then, if this is the standard of behavior JMS thinks Superman should be striving for, he's being less effective than the comedians in the PSAs who tell people to call 911 if they have a stroke! If Stan Lee was writing this, the guy would die and Superman would learn an important lesson about power and responsibility.
