I hate to admit it, but I found this figure at the local Wal-Mart, where they had all the figures. I was tempted to pick up Nightcrawler too, but I already have one (and with a light up sword as well!)

At my local toy emporium there were plenty of Dr. Strange figures to be found. Peg after peg full to bursting of Dr. Strange figures. Only one or two other figures from the set were on display.

I suspect parents are slightly reluctant to buy their children action figures that look vaguely like John Waters.

It looks like a bigger version of the Dr. Strange figure from the 90s Spider-Man animated series. The fingers are in the same magic/ Rock On! position.

Yeah. I think the licensing of the Charlton characters has a lot of stipulations. That’s why DC Direct is the only line to have had any figures of them. Don’t look for Charlton characters to appear in JLU anytime soon.

However, it seems that the Fawcett characters were obviously purchased under a different agreement, hence Captain Marvel’s appearance this past weekend.

Professor X comes with Galactus’s HEAD! You don’t wanna mess with that guy. Poor Nightcrawler is the one that gets stuck with the crotch.

Shade the Changing Man never got an action figure (Shade the villain who was sort of Starman’s buddy did).

Unfortunately, there’s apparently some kind of licensing problem that keeps Mattel from making the Question as a JLU figure. But the DCD one David mentions is pretty decent.

*And* Galactus’ right arm. I mean, how many times have you said “I would give my right arm for a Doctor Strange Action Figure”? And here the big guy has gone and done it for you. For an emotionless planet-devouring force of nature, he’s quite the mensch.

(What poor bastard will be forever known as “The figure that comes with Galactus’ crotch”, that’s what I want to know.)

Question got a DC Direct figure. And I want to say that Shade did as well, at least the Vertigo revisioning. But then, my hindbrain has a lot of free time on it’s hands, so…

For a while, DC Direct was doing a lot of action figures of b-level characters. However, now that DC Direct also has taken over the bigger licenses (like some guy named “The Batman” or something) we can probably expect a lot fewer characters like Phantom Lady and Red Tornado and a lot more Flight Gear Alfred and such.

Still, Shade and Creeper would be very nice.
