Top Ten Comic Book Doctors #8 – Dr. Bromwell
July 22nd, 2005
Continuing with the list of comic book doctors who actually practice medicine.
#8 – Dr. Bromwell
Dr. Bromwell is the Parkers’ family physician. Without a doubt, he must be the most talented doctor on this list because he has managed to keep Aunt May alive for over forty years now. That man has skill.

Thanks for the series. This is the kid of stuff I like – things where I go,
“I should have thought of that!”

[...] Speaking of both TV shows and comic book doctors, I caught an episode of the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon last weekend (the one with Electro as the villain). I was pleasantly surprised when the head doctor at the hospital was named Dr. Bromwell. That’s a nice bit of continuity I wasn’t expecting. Yes, Aunt May survived all those years. But, one wonders sometimes, did she really get sick that often? Or was the doctor intentionally prolonging treatment, possibly doing things to worsen her condition, to string them along for 40 years of medical bills? I’m reminded of the doctor from Johnny Dangerously where the mother was always sick with something new and more expensive as Johnny had more money to his name.
