Monday PSA: In Memoriam, Sheldon Moldoff

Famed comic book artist Sheldon Moldoff died last week at age 91. In addition to his numerous accomplishments rightfully lauded by other comics bloggers, let’s not forget the nearly thirty comic book public service ads he illustrated for DC comics during their PSA program in the ’50s and ’60s.

  1. I saw Sheldon Moldoff at a convention in Miami last year. He gave a panel and discussed his career. He was very sharp. I ask him about the PSAs. Moldoff remembered doing them and the business arrangement involved in making them. He did not have any memories of any invidual PSA. I guess he did find them as amusing as we did.
