“Pick on Batman” Weekend, Day 1: Gotham, C.S.I.

Rigor Mortis is a stiffening of the muscles that occurs after death. It generally begins about 3 hours after death, peaks at 12 hours after death (depending on the environemental temperature) and lasts no more than than 24-36 hours.
Sorry Batman, but rigor mortis would be long gone by three days.

Batman is locked in a battle with the forces of Crime. He doesn’t have time to explain himself. Or use prepositions…
“The lack of RIGOR MORTIS combined with THE STINK OF THE CORPSE makes it obvious that HE’S BEEN DEAD AT LEAST THREE DAYS.”
This is what happens when you ship your sounding board off to prep school, and try to get by on just internal monologue. Suddenly you are building stealthed, super-power granting satellites and getting punked by 16 year-old girls.
“This is Batman’s Brain. This is Batman’s Brain on angst…”

Well, the disappearance of rigor mortis does depend on the ambient temperature. Was the corpse in cold surroundings?
